How do you buy a Star Citizen ship?
Buying a Star Citizen Ship can be a daunting experience. After all, Star Citizen ships can be expensive and choosing one that matches your play style and personal preferences can be difficult. Once you decide to which ship you want to buy, the next question is how you want to buy that ship.
For most players, the answer is to go the RSI website and find the ship they want and then purchasing it. After all, they are Star Citizen's developers and you can't go wrong buying directly from the source.
You'll be directly supporting their efforts into making Star Citizen a reality and if you spend enough, they'll reward you with some nifty concierge rewards. On the RSI website, you'll notice there are some hiccups in this plan. For one, the ship you want might not be available on the RSI store as they usually only sell a small amount of the ships in the game at any one time. Another hiccup is the ship you want usually will not come with LTI or Lifetime insurance as RSI only sells ships with RSI when they first release that ship which could have been years ago. A final issue is that ships on RSI can be really expensive!
Fortunately, the market has come up with a solution to these problems with 3rd party sites like Starlti.com. We have worked for years, stocking our inventory, to be able to fill in the gaps left by the official Star Citizen store. For example, for most of year the RSI store only sells about 10% of the ships in the game where SLTI sells about 95% of the ships year round. Additionally, all of the ships that SLTI come with LTI or 10 year insurance where only a tiny fraction of the ships on the RSI store come with insurance over 6 months during most of the year. In my opinion, the biggest advantage of buying from us at Starlti.com instead of the RSI store is the savings. Take the Carrack for example. RSI will sell you for $600 with 6 months insurance where SLTI will sell you a Carrack with LTI for $420. That's a 30% savings for the same ship. Another example is the Corsair, which is $250 at RSI and $190 with LTI from SLTI.
Ultimately, if you stick to buying ships from the official RSI store or certain trusted sources like Starlti.com, you can't go wrong. Both options have their benefits and we support whatever decision you take.
As a quick side note, you might wonder what happens to you after you buy a Star Citizen ship. If you buy directly from RSI, you'll get the ship in the hangar section of the website instantly after purchase. When you buy from Starlti.com, we have to combine upgrades to make your ships which can take some time.
Our delivery times are usually between 20 minutes and a few hours. Once we have made your ship, we use the gifting feature on RSI.com to send the ship to your email. You just need to click the link in the email and the ship will be added to your hangar and ready for you to use in game! Click here to browse our shop and start buying.
